The process by which a student may appeal a grade received in a course at Beautywave School & Supply Inc. is as follows:
Talk to your program instructor first within seven days to reconsider the grade evaluation.
If program instructor says no then go to head instructor.
If the head instructor says no then prepare the formal appeal to the director.
General Tips
· You have 30 days from course closure, to file an appeal.
· You must follow the chain of command cited above. You cannot skip a step.
· Ask for all outcomes to be offered in writing (e.g., ask instructor to write down why he/she said no to the grade re-evaluation).
· You must present Grounds for Appeal, some examples include:
o Medical Grounds
o Compassionate
o Course Management
o Procedural Error
· Appeals are preventable by speaking with your instructor.
· Instructors are best equipped to accommodate your needs if they can prepare ahead of time, rather than retroactively.
1. Beautywave School & Supply Inc. may dismiss a student from a program on any of the following grounds:
· Student showing up for class less than 20 hrs. /week.
· Fee is not paid.
· Student not achieving pass marks in theory and practical.
· Students getting into altercation or disputes with clients & coworkers.
2. The process by which a student may be dismissed from a program is as follows:
· Student will be notified at least three times and will be asked to give valid reason in written if student fail to do so then student will be dismissed.
· Student will be given the notice and may be excused for two weeks if student is still unable to pay then student will be dismissed.
· If student fails three test in a row and fails to do the designated duties.
· Fowl language will not be tolerated at all against clients or classmates if even after notices it occurs then student will be dismissed.
1. This policy governs complaints from students respecting [Beautywave School & Supply Inc.] and any aspect of its operations. Student will not be subject to any form of retaliation as a result of filing a complaint.
2. All student complaints must be made in writing.
3. The student must provide the written complaint to the [instructor] who is responsible for making determinations in respect of complaints. If the [instructor] is absent or is named in a complaint, the student must provide the complaint to the [Principal].
4. The process by which the student complaint will be handled is as follows:

· The instructor/ director will call the other party and listen to their side
· School will try its best to resolve the problem between two parties
· School will make sure that the same problem does not occur again
· If goes on for ongoing problem then students will be split up in separate group so they don’t see each other because students are split in groups one group goes for practical hands on and the other group goes for theory ]
· Written reasons for the determination will be provided to the student within 45 days after the date on which the complaint was made.
5. The student making the complaint may be represented by an agent or a lawyer.
6. If the student is or was enrolled in an approved program, is dissatisfied with the determination, and has been misled by the institution regarding any significant aspect of that program, he or she may file a complaint with the Private Training Institutions Branch (www.privatetraininginstitutions.gov.bc.ca).
Respectful and Fair Treatment of Students Policy
The [Beautywave School & Supply Inc.]is committed to ensuring that its learning environment promotes the respectful and fair treatment of all students.
While on [Beautywave School & Supply Inc.]premises or in the course of activities or events hosted by [Beautywave School & Supply Inc.] the following activities are prohibited:
· No insulting words towards others.
· No making fun of others.
· No grouping leaving one classmate out.
· Everybody shares their own maintenance after service.
· Fair rotation of all duties.
If under any circumstances, a prohibited activity occurs, the following outlines the process for addressing the activity:
· Any type of prohibited activity occurs students should discuss their concerns with each other to resolve it.
· If does not get resolved student should bring it to instructor.
· Students not following the rules will be given warning
· Not following the rules may result in loss of practical hours for the day.
Attendance Policy
1. The minimum attendance requirements for students are as follows:
· 15 hrs/ week Part time students
· 20hrs/ week Full time students
2. The consequences for students who do not meet the minimum attendance requirements listed above are as follows:
· Students with unexcused absence for two weeks will have to give written note stating the reason for absence.
· Students with unexcused absence have to work with class mate to make up for the time they lost.
· A long unexcused absence can result into delay in completing required hours in contract time in that situation student may need to pay for next module to complete hours.
3. The process by which students must report an absence is as follows:
· Students can bring the request to the instructor.
· Long term absence need a written notice and approved by the Director.
4. Excused absence includes:
· Temporary illness or injury.
· Prearranged absence approved by administrator.
· Extended absence due to physical, mental, emotional disability.
· Extremely inclement weather.
· Emergency, serious illness, death in family.
· Participation in religious observance.
Admission Requirements
In house English assessment test with 70% pass
Minimum age 18yrs. PROOF OF DOB
Students will learn:
After completion students will be able to receive the client, complete consultation, provide haircut, hair color, chemical texture and hairstyling. Students will have theoretical knowledge for disinfection and hair structure to provide healthy hair services. Students will be able to successfully work or manage a salon or start their own business.
Completion Requirements*
70% in theory and practical to complete program.
